very good move.

A daily flight to Kuala Lumpur should be planned. 3 x Karachi, 2 x Lahore and 2 x Islamabad.

PIA has two airworthy 777s grounded, they should be utilized to increase frequency to Kuala Lumper.

One 777 should be dedicated for KUL flights if frequencies are increased. KHI-KUL should be revived. It has more demand than LHE and ISB.

This flight will directly compete with Thai.

PIA cannot match the service provided by Thai who use better quality inflight product.

So it will be other reasons to attract passengers.

PIA should look at fequencies. Maybe this time also connect Faisalabad, Multan and Sialkot to Kuala Lumpur to connect onwards that will hurt Thai more as passengers from these cities that come to Lahore to fly out on Thai will use PIA/Malaysia ticket.

PIA needs to induct an aircraft like A321-NEO.

14 weekly flights to KL

4 x Karachi
3 x Lahore
3 x Islamabad
2 x Multan
2 x Faisalabad

16 club class seats and 170 economy and use that for the nonstop 6 hour flights.

New aircraft with proper inflight entertainment can swing passengers in PIA direction.

Are Hong Kong, Japan and Korea already part of this interline agreement or not? If not, they should be added as well.

Glad to see that finally PIA is learning the art of code sharing. I hope they will concentrate on providing daily connections via code shares from its main hubs in Pakistan. Both IST and KUL are at an appropriate distance from Pakistan to have strategic foreign hubs. Pax would feel relaxed by being able to stretch their legs after about 5-6 hours of non-stop flying. Quick connections would enable that. GCC airliners hubs are located in too close proximity to Pakistan and do not make any sense to code share with them. Similar code share arrangements with EgyptAir or Ethopian will be beneficial to cover Africa.

Look at the wish list and empty pockets. Exactly matches those running PIA and even govt to be precise. Bhai all this requires money and we are beggers.

No. 1 Well PIA will be leasing the aircraft so its not like they need a 100 million dollar down payment. Leasing aircraft is cheaper.

No. 2 Yes we are beggars but if you are going to try and run the airline try to run it PROPERLY.

No. 3 PIA belongs to a government that is broke and bankrupt. So either they should SHUTDOWN PIA or rather run it PROPERLY.

No. 4 Whether PIA makes money or loses money shuts down or keeps flying the interest on its debt (42 billion per year) is going to be paid by the government as its sovereign debt and Pakistani government cannot default on it.

This a good plan, this can definitely target Malindo Air, Sri Lankan, and Thai, which has this market locked, PIA or any other Pakistani airlines operating from 2nd tier cities can help it give it market share. I was hoping to see Malaysian Airlines in the Pakistan market. Both Malaysia and Turkey have good relations with Pakistan and both popular for Pakistanis in business and tourism, and good connecting hub to other parts of the World.

This frequency is more practical and easy to adopt and manage with one B-777, AP-BID can handle this.

Given a considerable Pakistani population in Malaysia and extensive network of AirAsia, I still wonder why AirAsia, the low cost carrier of Malaysia, has still not explore the Pakistani market. Malindo Air operates a daily flight to Lahore, and the seat load factor is always above 95%.

Australia

Now passengers can travel between Pakistan and Sydney via Kuala Lumpur three times a week under a codeshare partnership between PIA and Malaysia Airlines.

It is very "Generic" statement that "Fly 3 times a week to Pakistan".

They should explicitly mention the day(s) of operation and frequency to KHI, LHE and to ISB.
