They should also do the 773βs. Eventually UK will come back online. Would be good to have refurbished aircraft deployed.

Initially passenger cabin of two PIA Boeing 777-200LR aircraft registrations AP-BGY and AP-BGZ will be refurbished with new seats and functional IFE. Project to be completed in 6 to 8 months.
Later, more Boeing 777s in PIA fleet will get their passenger cabin refurbished with new seats and functional IFE. Maybe younger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft passenger cabins to be refurbished.

Saw this interesting documentary which shows how BA refurbished their 777 and installed new seats, worth watching:

Recently flew on ancient BA 777 (1999 was first flight of the aircraft) from DOH- LGW Code shared flight with QR. When i saw online that the aircraft was nearly 25 year old 777 i was quite disheartened.
But to my surprise, the cabin had been fully refurbished and I have to say, it looked like an amazing upgrade job. Fit and finish including quality of the interior was indistinguishable from a much newer aircraft. BA service was also surprisingly good.
it must have bene a full strip down and replacement with new seats and new IFE.
LHE-DOH was on QR dreamliner. Flight was delayed by an hour due to fog in Lahore. As always , service onboard was outstanding.
The way BA have upgraded cabins is the way to do it. New seats and new IFE to bring them up to date. I assume the PK upgrade plan is to just change seat covers and repair the legacy IFE to show centrally delivered content rather than on demand video

PIA should just install charging ports and develop a good streaming website for the passengers to stream on their personal devices. As for the seats, installing new ones is a cost which PIA can't bare so it's better to repair the recline on the existing seats and maybe switch from fabric to leather seat covers. Doesn't make sense to invest a lot in the ageing aircrafts.nopy99 wrote: Fri Dec 29, 2023 2:25 pm I assume the PK upgrade plan is to just change seat covers and repair the legacy IFE to show centrally delivered content rather than on demand video

What is the expected timeline for AP-BGY to return to service?

All privatization efforts of care takers are put on hold by the Supreme Court. So, when BGZ is going in?

Good to know that AP-BGY is back in the air - but the million dollar question is - was it actually refurbished and was the IFE fixed?
If so - would love to see pics.
Thanks
