I saw this posted on Croydon Airports Facebook page. Advertising postcard for Imperial Airways route from London to Delhi (including stops at Gwadar & Karachi)
Imperial Airways postcard c.1931 advertising their long haul routes- stopping at all airports to Delhi and Mwanza.
The routes originated from their operational hub at London Croydon Airport- predecessor to London Heathrow.
The Cape Town route extension launched at the end of 1931 added post production. Delhi was a 7 day journey and Cape Town 12 days. The new air services reduced the previous surface transport times by 50%- a significant improvement and saving in journey times.
