30th Anniversary of PIA Flight PK404 Disappearance in Himalayan Mountains

Thirty years ago, on August 25, 1989, PIA Fokker F27 Friendship (AP-BBF) performing early morning flight PK404 from Gilgit to Islamabad vanished in Himalayan mountains. The ill-fated aircraft was carrying a total of 54 people including 5 crew members and 49 passengers.

Aircraft's wreckage has never been found to this day.

Above IEEE convention was termed for web errors based on this incident

Found an article on Brock University website written by one of the passenger who was lucky to escape return flight.

Interestingly PIA operated 3 extra section flights from Dubai to Lahore in June as PK-404.
