why would two airlines be interested in buying planes to scrap. clearly the intended plan is to bring these aircraft in to regular operations. shocking how an american airline which by law is bound to adhere to the strictest standards of safety( faa regulations being the most stringent there), has made a bid for these planes where as pia that already has 45 year old fokkers has been fretting about their safety. the hajj umra operation strecthes up to 5 months a year, and if we look at the busy summer season when the 743s are utilized up to the brim, extra capacity is needed for middle east load which has been ignored . the word has it that pia is looking to dry lease /purchase newer 742/3 ,replacing its own slightly older version that does the job almost as well. age is not of consideration where the bulk of passengers have to be transported , nor is inflight entertainment of any concern to the spartans that travel this route as long as the aircraft are fully airworthy. pia can face competition from local airlines and foreign airlines such as saudia, qatar and even emirates which will not affect its revenue in the least, given the budding load which is seen here. there will always be a shortage of capacity during this busy season .surely the selling of these planes is backed by the boodle these parasitic scumbags in the airline are bent to make. an airworthy plane is never cannibalized unless it is made to gather dust at the hanger for years till its rusts and becomes an antique which was done in 1998 when the 742s were grounded without inviting bidders to buy these planes because the absurdity of replacing airworthy 742s with 743s would have become to dubious to elude, hence the premise of safety was made the standpoint and 200 million dollars plus were spent to lease and purchase the 743s over a 5 year period while cheaper 743/4 s were made available . this airline in the clutches of the government will capsize or always be on the margins of collapsing with such decisions.

please do not make assertions on what u think will be done but rather on factual basis. the 742s are being sought for flying purposes and not for dismantling. the american airline is counted in the likes of air atlanta which lease aircraft to other airlines during hajj and other busy periods with crew, along with charters.

thats such hogwash. how were these planes flying up to 3500 hours a month with non operational engines during the hajj operation ,just 5 days after which they were grounded. the other reason was that the planes could not fly in to american territory , which was hardly a reason since their retention would purely have been for gulf sectors. ironically now an american airline has made a bid for these supposedly perilous deathtraps.
