Sad news about Flight Sim

Post by nabeel46 »

I'm not sure if you all have heard, but Microsoft has axe'd ACES studio, who were the ones developing Flight Simulator :(

It was announced last week. I'm still very much shocked. I remember playing FS 4 in DOS when I was in Pakistan in '89, 4 years old and I remember that still! Heh, it's gone a long way. Picked it up FS98, school etc went by, now I got back into it with FS2004 and FSX.

At least now development and hardware can catch up.
What are your memories?

i first learned about flight simulators when i was at my friend Jamil's house back in 1992 or 93.
One of his relatives staying with him was saying jamil i want to fly the plane and i went wild with excitement and asked you have an aeroplane it cant be real and Jamil explained how flight simulator works. i wanted a turn of my own but when i saw how it worked i didnt care when it wa smy turn.
It was so old and each time their performance was bad she just told him to go ahead and crash to restart. :P

Whell not to despair or worry evryone in their article it says they will continue to support their latest flight sim which is FSX, they are not gona take it off the shelves in shops their gona continue sales with it and any addons they are gona support and technical support.
Microsoft has also stated because they have high interest now on makin pc games they have not ruled out the fact they are not going to make any more flight simulation. They will probably make flight simulation of the future in their Microsoft Studios or where they next plan to. So the fact is Flight Simulation will not die out cause they do have future plans. And Flight simulation is still their Asset in money still.
So basically its like dumping your old car to get a better one! Dumping their old studio for better one in their games studio which they already have a basics shift over.

It won't be the same, which has been confirmed by former developers. Probably be taken over by a new studio, but more focus on the "game" part.

Some of those developers have been on FlightSim for 22 years, but I dunno, we'll see what happens...

Haha! We will see. I'm going on what the ACES developers said themselves. But it's all good!
