Dear HOP Members
The subject cited jets served PIA for about 3 decads. I had my first flight in 1989 with PIA and since than have flown many airlines and many many airliners. Unfortunately never got chance any of the above. I very keen to know what type of aircrafts were those, I mean single or double ailes, configuration, range etc. Tried hard to search for pictures of the interior (cabins) but in vain.
Would appreciate if someone can share details and pictures of these aircrafts, particularly those flown by PIA
PIA Boeing 707 and 720

Try Airliners.net. You can search for aircraft specific and cabin interior pictures.

The Boeing 707 and Boeing 720B were single aisle aircraft. Boeing 737-300 replaced Boeing 720B in PIA fleet in 1985/86. The last Boeing 720B (AP-AXL) was phased-out in 1986. Boeing 720B helped PIA in becoming one of Asia's best airlines in 1960s so it has a very special place in PIA's history.
I have an article on PIA Boeing 720B retirement where it's mentioned that when last Boeing 720B was retired a number of veteran PIA Engineering people were seen with misty eyes indicating their close attachment with Boeing 720B. There was father-son like relationship between PIA Engineering and Boeing 720B.
PIA ordered Airbus A310-300 to replace Boeing 707 passenger aircraft. PIA Cargo continued to operate Boeing 707 freighters till late 1990s.
In PIA fleet, Boeing 720B was configured to carry a total of 133 passengers. (12 First Class with four-abreast seating + 121 Economy Class with six-abreast seating)
The Boeing 707 in PIA fleet was configured to carry a total of 150 passengers (12 First Class with four-abreast seating + 138 Economy Class with six-abreast seating)
Following are scans from 1970s PIA brochure showing first class cabin of a PIA Boeing 707 or 720B.

Thanks for your suggestions Nasir and ConnieMan.
Abbas, no doubt that have one of the greatest collection of PIA and PAF, thanks for details about the two aircrafts.
I am suprised by the small size of these airliners despite being powered by 4 engines? Also the cabins shown in pics look first class with 4 abreast seating.
