We already have leased 777 , and to lease or infact buy 787 will be great.

I agree with the livery ideas. Simple was a more recognizable brand. A euro white paint would be cheaper option (paint cost, maintenance cost, fuel cost).
Back on topic, the 787s are very advance and also seem very prone to issues which require regular maintenance. Ive flown them on many occasions on Qatar and love the product (bigger windows, tolerable cabin pressure, low noise) but they seem to be always in the news with some issues. Thankfully no more exploding batteries. I think PIA should stick to the same type so its easier progression and maintainnce. Either go boeing or airbus.

This engine issue is with RR Engines. Ideally PIA should be getting GE engines.whatever wrote:AOA all.

Summary
Boeing's activity indicates a new upcoming rate cut.
Swapping orders from 777 to 787, will help Boeing to increase production to 14 per month for the Dreamliner.
Rate cut means that profits will be pushed beyond 2020.
"In times where Boeing has been discounting the Boeing 777-300ER to increase its attractiveness and fill the big holes in the production (line), this letter seems to be very odd." Bechai added. "To me it is also clear that Boeing is not really concerned about PIA to the extent it claims in the letter, but is trying to facilitate a swap here that benefits their own plans."
Though Boeing has its own agenda, Bechai said such a deal remains good for Pakistan's national carrier.

Ideally, they should go for a mix of -8/-9. But i'm affraid they have excluded the -8 because Boeing does not seem to be willing to sell -8s these days, due to losses on those. Many sources have stated that the production cost of 787-8 is still quite high due to inital issues in the aircraft production.
