As far as my memory goes...
The pilots that have been on the PIA flights for me have been...
Captain Mian Naveed...quite a few times
Captain Tajammul...quite a few times
Captain Asif....not sure which Asif, but an A300 pilot
Captain Saleem Mehmood
Anyone know the status of Captain Saleem Mehmood?

Reference my mail post in December 2005 "Mass Exodus" I had pointed out certain facts due which pilot exodus from PIA seems inevitable which has been now reiterated by Johnny’s (Capt. Sadiq) post.
Some of the pilots pending super annuation in 2007 have made it only as F27 commanders and will not make it to the left seat of a jet.
Further more as rightfully pointed out security is now a major concern for westerners in Pakistan therefore we may get pilots from the eastern Europe expatriate pool or from some fly by night outfits of Europe willing to work for pittance since they may have deplorable working conditions in their respective home countries. But quality I doubt.
Meanwhile PIA will continue basking in the past glory of the 60's and 70's and self proclaimed champions of aviation where as the new and upcoming airlines in the Gulf and Far East will continue to attract the talent mass depleting that very resource that helped build PIA in the past.
So far it still hasn't dawned on the incumbent lot at the helm of affairs that some drastic measure is required on a war footing to arrest this trend.
Its a wake up call for any company when the CPPS hands in his resignation with 27 years of service and is willing to take the plunge foregoing his position, professional standing and reputation built on years of service and hard work for an unknown and un chartered territory where he'll be just another number starting all over again.
It's not only monetary gains that is forcing pilots of this experience to take the plunge rather its the whole set up that encourages sycophants, inept and corrupt individuals that run the day to day affairs instilling professional frustration compelling the future of this airline to look else where for some form of stability professional or otherwise.
Unfortunately PIA remains oblivious and it only goes to reflect the mind set of those who can make the difference but will not since all is well as long as they get their share of the loot and plunder.
