Hi everyone,

I just want to share about PIA flying direct to US, it is a non-issue.

The reasons behind this:

Any airline flying to USA must provide the passengers list to US authorities 24 hours in advance. That is also valid for Canada as well. If any of you travelled USA recently, you should have experienced that wherever you purchase the ticket, you have to give them copies of travel documents irespective of which airline you travel.

PIA is no exception and if there is any discrepancy, the flights are always diverted as it happened with BA, AF and Korean airlines very recently.
It's altogather a different scenerio now after 9/11, when immigration officers were lax, it has changed now. PIA has much better security record than most of other airlines in bussiness.

PIA is going to fly Direct flight to USA after the avilablity of aircrafts. that is 100% sure and for those people who complain about 12 hours flight, remember that if one can travel with EK for direct to UAE, there is no problem flying to KHI direct. this is invalid argument. rational people will fly.

Pakistan International Airways, which has ordered two 777-200LRs, will get the plane that set the record in March, after it has been refurbished in Everett. It also takes delivery in February of the first test plane. The airline will initially use the super-long-range jets non-stop from Karachi to New York -- a 15-hour flight. Later will come Islamabad to Houston, Karachi to Los Angeles and Karachi to Houston. The longest of those flights would be just under 17 hours.

ok lets analyze this situation PIA VS EK.

that is certainly an exergeration? EK flies same flies same aircrfts as other do it eith boeing or airbus. service is bit better but on omnipotent?

that is not true, 777 are better than A350

When u travel on EK nonstop, u dnt see ppl standing in lines to use the lavatories......so the internal cabin environment which builds up on every long flight is much better on EK non stop flight to DXB than PK 7 hrs leg to MAN.

that is not valid arument, human beings are all the same, look what happened at new orleans and muzafarabad. Balck out is USA few years brought them to same situation.

and most importatntly, to all those who have flown on both EK, JFK-DXB-LHE, and PIA, which route will u take, would u prefer the PIA or EK with a transit of couple of hours in DXB. Remember the EK fare is not that different than PIA... and after they start nonstop ORD --- DXB, the fares will even drop more.....

why loose time at DxB airport when u can spend 5 hours with ur family and relax, afterall you don't have to be hasseled and onsulted by tribal mindset bedouins at DXB. Rational people will fly with PIA again.

I have flown Emirates a number of times, and did not find anything special about them.

in post 911 world, my experience is that if u fly on PIA to US , u face more abuse by the hands of Homeland security.

I have been to the US around four time since 9/11, three times on PIA to JFK and once to Atlanta on Lufthansa, and the treatment was great all four times.

The immigration staff is polite and no "abuse" was dished out.

The immigration staff does not care what airline you are flying, rather what passport you are carrying.

Looks like Pakaviator is bent upon discouraging people to fly PIA.

pakiaviator, from your posts I can feel that you are not happy to see PIA getting brand new ATRs; you are not happy to see PIA going for more new 777s and you are not happy to see PIA planning to launch non-stop flights for USA. Clearly you are not happy to see PIA making progress and moving forward. Seriously, I think you are at wrong place and wasting your own time and also time of others and tha's all you have been doing since joining this forum.

Everyone welcomes healthy and constructive criticism but I know you are here ONLY to bash PIA and criticize anything linked to PIA just for the sake of criticism and for having cheap fun.

Sorry, we don't need you on this forum.

Ohhh Comeon Give us a Break Pakiaviator.PKs Boeing 777s are much better than those EKs 345s,Seats are much wider and the leg space is great,345 cant match the 777s comfort wise....HUH!!I travelled today on Emirates and there was a long quee of Passengers waiting to use the lavatory and the Cabin Enviorment was just okey,Passengers were moving around as they were walking in a super market and there was some french guy who was sitting behind me and he started smoking,Inflight meal was just okey....I have travelled numerous times on both Ek and PK and i found both of their cabin crew to be very friendly and polite...HUH!!!Pakiaviator are u an aviation expert,why dont u join PIA's Corporate Planning Dept,For ur information 777ERs cant fly to US wid full payload,Wat do u think that the management is crazy that they have oredered a Multi-Million Dollar Machine that is of no use for them???...PAkiaviator u are among those people who will always criticize PIA no matrter wat ever they do.Criticizing PIA And Pakistan is a fashion and status symbol for people like you.
