PacMin PIA B777-200LR Quetta-Nature's Orchard 1/100

Post by samee380 »

Hello everyone,

I have always admired aircraft models from PacMin and i wanted one in a PIA livery. However, PIA PacMin models are so rare!

Nevertheless, I am delighted to show you these first photos of this beautiful model from the aspiring manufacturer PacMin Pacific Minatures. This model is painted in the Quetta Nature's Orchard livery representing the Baluchistan province of Pakistan. It is a B777-200LR in scale 1/100 (approx 25 inches length)

This model was presented by Boeing Co at the Dubai Airshow and was also gifted to the CEO of PIA at the time of the AP-BHX Delivery.

I am very happy to have this model with me and took alot of time to get it! Do not ask me how much i paid for this.

Enjoy the photos and feel free to express your views/comments...etc

Thanks for the comment.

If you offer me about 6000USD then i shall consider it.

These models are very rare and from what i have been told, only 2 of each design were made for Boeing Co at the Dubai Airshow.

I have also got another tail, that is the Kashmir tail. Photos coming soon....

AP-BHX is a 200ER. This model depicts a 200LR.

Yes as Moin says its a B777-200LR model. However, please note this model was only for promotion at the Dubai Airshow for Boeing to show that PIA was the launch customer of the B777-200LR model. So you would not expect PacMin to add registrations on models as these models were made before the actual aircraft was delivered to the airline.

I will get a PIA B777-200ER Nature's Orchard soon (without reg), also a PIA B747-200 "Thar Colours of the Desert" Reg AP-BAK coming..... and the B777-300ER photos maybe next week. Lots to look forward to...

Judging from the posts on this thread, people might not like what I'm going to say but in my opinion PacMin models are overpriced and seriously over-rated. For the kind of money people pay for them, I would expect a lot more detailing on the model. The engines, for example, are quite inaccurate as far as the turbine blades are concerned. And not just that - other details are missing. On a model of this size, and at this price, the level of detail should be absolutely stunning: antennas, lights, landing gears, cargo doors, wing and engine detailing...

Compare this PacMin model to almost any 1:200 scale Hogan model, and even some of the Skymarks ones. Or just compare it to some of the 1:400 scale models, like GJ or Phoenix, and you can get an idea of what I mean.

Maybe this will be a minority opinion on this forum - but shouldn't larger scale models be MORE realistic than smaller scale ones?

Look at the 1:3 A380 Emirates model outside Heathrow - now THAT'S a good large scale model :)

Just thought I'd add this - these pics are of Bader Models. They can be ordered in any livery from the Bader Models website. Sizes available are 1:100, 1:144, 1:200.

A 1:100 model (shown here), including packaging and shipping, will cost you US$ 760.

Notice the windshield wipers, lights, door markings, landing gears, wing and engine detailing - and check out the 747's engines!

Now that, perhaps, is worth the US$ 760 price tag.

Hmmm?
