Question to experienced repainters

Salaam everyone,

I was busy with repaint a POSKY 767-200 V4 in PIA's 1990's livery. It looks very smart on it. The painting is finished. One thing remaining is applying the paint on BMP files and ask permission from the photographer/posky/paintkit maker etc... But I don't get one thing. What means ALPHA ?

In the tutorial it says ( make sure you've alpha in repaint ). Any idea what this is ? And is it really necessary for the repaint?

I think Ahmed bhai or Umair bhai can answer my question.

No need for reply, I've managad to do it. I used DXTBmp to create Alpha layers.
