but there is a motive behind it .. Qatar getting additional flights in to Northern PAkistan and tht means a loss of market share of PIA ... its like theres some thing spare lying around at ur house .. u just give it away cuz u think it might help the other person ... but u know he or she realizes tht there under obligation to u.. r obligation is to provide additional landing rights ..

Present Status of Qatar Airbus
Does anyone have any information about the current status of the A 310 gifted by Qatar? Has it been registered? I heard about some operational matters pertaining to the aircraft being discussed by concerned authorities. Can someone shed light on that as well especially the insurance issue.

Just a thought came to my mind:
Is it possible that Qatar Airways is interested in buying PIA and they have gifted A310 to Pakistan Government so that aircraft of a future Qatar Airways owned-PIA don't get used for Pakistan Government's VIP flights duty? Or in other words: for VIP flights Pakistani Government will not have to rely on aircraft of a Qatar Airways owned-PIA?

According to reliable sources, the A310 is now at Karachi Airport waiting to be painted in Pakistani markings.Bukhari wrote:Does anyone have some update on the Qatar aircraft gifted to Pakistan for use by president and prime minister.

Quite possible but chances are 10%. The chances of PIA Engineering shop being turned into a joint ventured company with Qatar are much higher. Thats my feeling.Abbas Ali wrote:Just a thought came to my mind:

The Ex MD had also given a statement last when he was let go from PK, saying that he was the one who had made the Cathay Pacific B743 deal! Wonder if Arshad Jalil also isn;t a part of it all.
Cheers
