PIA fare hike from January

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines has increased its one-way fare for foreign destinations by Rs600 and Rs300 under the fuel surcharge head which will be enforced from January 1, 2007.

The increase of Rs600 is for flights to US, UK, Canada and European destinations while Rs300 will be for passengers travelling to Bangladesh, Russia, Middle East and Gulf countries, Nepal and India. Now those travelling to Europe and North America will have to pay Rs2,100 on one-way tickets while passengers on other routes will have to pay Rs1,200.

Abbas bahi, i hope this is an error, howcome one way tickect from Pakistan to US, Can and Euro destinations would Rs 2,100 for PIA!, when my brother got quotation of $2,500 Cnd for Pakistan from Toronto couple months ago for PIA, he then ended up getting set up route with different code share airlines for almost $1000 less then what PIA's price was...

From the Uk there also has been an increase in tax,
those flying after 1 Feb will have to pay the extra tax, if you have already bought a ticket, then you will have to pay the extra tax at the airports.
