Optimistic or Realistic

Post by INSIDER »

With due respect to all the members of this forum but i have to say when i read different topics and comments from our fellow members its hillarious. Well most of them are not working for PIA and the way they give suggestions and comments are very funny, majority of the members dont even know the working of the airline and by giving comments how to improve the airline is very funny. Luckily nobody fromn the company is following comments from this forum otherwise PIA would have been closed long time back..................

lets talk about whats happening in the airline instead of running the airline from this forum...................so be realistic rather than Optimistic

Mr. Insider, on the contrary I dont find members comments hilarious, rather I believe some very knowledgeable and informed individuals post on this forum.
Sure some ideas are rather far fetched, but thinking out of the box is the only way forward. By the way how much do your Chairman, Senior Financial Officer and SVP Commercial know about running an airline.

In a way he's right. There are people who claim that whatever they say is gospel truth and no one dare contradict it.

If you express an opinion or share some news you've heard, more often you'll be challenged to 'prove' your source of information or else you're not taken seriously. That or whatever you've stated is outright dismissed as being 'incorrect' as the person saying so has a much more reliable source than you do while not stating who or what that source is.

Personally speaking, I merely state what I have heard from those whom I consider reasonably good sources and that doesn't include crew gossip. What I hear from crew members I take with a pinch of salt as I consider them one of the least reliable sources of information. It mostly ends up being gossip. I've heard things that I wouldn't even bother posting here for the lack of probability it holds.

Then we also have those who genuinely offer very good ideas and suggestions only to have them struck down by some other 'know it all' individual as they know someone who knows someone who knows an airline employee.

In the ends its simply what you want to believe and what you think is basically a load of hot air.

CombiFan... Agreed!

To extent that how much do these people know about running an airline can actually be seen from the airline's present condition!!!

Acadamically PIA is a 'going concern'.It is already closed as far as its financial balance sheet is concerned. I agree that some members are ultra optimistic about the new planes but there are a lot many who are concerned about the ground realities. The comments of the forum are in line with the actions of the court jesters at the PIA headquarters.

Losing nine billion rupees ($150 million) in nine months sure shows the people in the airline management know what they are doing.

And the reason this airline did not shut down years ago, is because of the constant government handouts.

Show the balance sheet of PIA to a accountant, and he will tell you PIA is bankrupt with a negative present value.

Maybe its about time the airline got people who give a damn about the airline, not marketing jerks who operate 14 hour flights to Rome and Athens.
lets talk about what’s happening in the airline instead of running the airline from this forum.....
Well my dear INSIDER what is happening in the airline?

PIA aircraft are getting banned from European airspace.

PIA is losing 100 crores every month.

PIA pilots/engineers want to get trained at the airline expense and join Etihad, Qatar and Emirates.

PIA planes fresh out of maintenance are facing dangerous situations during flight (AP-BCC at Doha, AP-BDZ going to Islamabad).

Three year old 777 is ferried back from Moscow because of technical fault.

PIA takes 10 years to order and replace seven turboprops.

PIA EXPRESS is launched with a 20 year old 747-200. Laid out in high density Hadj layout, it is planning to compete with Air Blue A321s.

BTW it’s really funny how you keep using funny in your sentences.

There is no need to get personal. We should be analytical and suggestive rather than implicating all and sundry in tarnishing the golden history of PIA. It's present and future requires inputs of blood and sweat which is presumably absent.

Well my point was not to offend anyones feeling but it seems like everybody on this forum is a potential Chairman of PIA and i can bet that PIA will be shut down completely once in your hands and then in the history of PIA we will be reading the histories of PIA

Happy Eid Mubarak, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all of you

No one is offended. You made a point and said that most comments on this forum are "funny", and that people on this forum pretend they know better then the current management of PIA.

You are talking about a group of 400 people who dont get paid to come on this forum, and are a group of amatures, who are just fans of the national airline.
but it seems like everybody on this forum is a potential Chairman of PIA and i can bet that PIA will be shut down completely once in your hands
Well dear INSIDER, how can PIA do any worse then a negative present value (if you know what that means).

None of us want to be chairman PIA, rather just want the airline to regain lost glory.

But do me a favor.

Please refute some of my charges, that PIA is a bankrupt airline, and only surviving because of government handouts. Plus the fact that the current management has made a mess of things. This because you seem to think they are doing a great job.

And once you have hit rock bottom, there is no where to go but up, so might be a good idea to take five serious people from this forum, and give them the voluntary role of advisors.

Yes INSIDER, what is happening in PIA????

While our comments are "funny", how would you describe the current PIA management.

A few adjectives come to my mind, "pathetic", "inefficient", "non-aggressive", "corrupt", "non-professional", would rather be funny then all these.

The comments of PIA employees offspring are always treated with great respect on this forum, so do tell us what is happening in PIA?
