Post by ali24 »

Guys , has any one seen the newly refurbished 747-300, is is going to have a major interior change apart from the usual new seat covers! As most PIA aircraft in the past only had new seat covers in the name of interior refurbishment. Please can anyone send share some info r perhaps post some pics, thanks.

I would like to know, why PIA is refurnishing such an old fleet of aircraft and spending the $$$$$$ on such aircraft when the money can be used to buy or lease other more fuel efficient, new technology aircraft?!! I guess that PIA for us... PIA really needs to look into the future sometimes once the airline leaves the hands of the govt.

May be because money required to buy or even lease new technology modern planes is far more than the money required to refurbish existing The Long Haul fleet (B747-300s) so why not refurbish and get them operational for the places it is banned from...!

^ Well why refurnish such an old plane that does not have much life in it left - No airline uses the B743 or B742 anymore, they are being pashed out by many airlines today e.g. KLM, SAA etc.. PIA should invest in new technology aircraft that will be more fuel efficient and more cost effective in the long run.

According to PIA's reservation system -

PK787/22NOV KHI-LHR AND PK788/22NOV LHR-KHI is now operating by
B747-300 aircraft. All agents are asked to promote this sale.

Lets wait and see..........
