Capt. Dara is operating his last flight today PK300/301 and retiring after 39 years of flying service he joined PIA on23/o1/1967 and did his first flight on 04/04/1967 one good pilot going

A good pilot, with a distinguished career.

The recent EU fiasco did not fare him well as the SVP flight safety.

Captain Zahid Mian retires on 14th Nov ' 2006.

His last flight KHI - DAC - KHI.

These captains are retiring under the law that commercial pilots retire at 60.

What will happen if the age goes up to 62, will they start flying again???

yes capt.dara is very good kind nice and friend person
yes i flew with him three time which 1 A300 AP-BBA ISB-LHE May 1990 and AP-BCM KHI-PARIS dec 1993 and my last AP-BCN LHR-LHR 17 August 1994.

Ideally Capt Dara should have been retained as a 747 Captain for the phasing out period. Or as a professional instructor where senior Captains are cross trained on different types to carry out instructional duties. Instructional experience of that nature can do the junior pilots on ATR and 737, a world of good. This is a system adopted to introduce the highest quality control and safe flying culture right at the grass root level.

I Wish Capt Dara a very happy post retirement life. Spending so much time in an organisation is indeed a great honour... Hope he will continue to contribute to the betterment of PIA in after reitrement as well.....

Does anyone know Capt Saeed Khan (B-747 Capt and a photography enthusiat), if he is still flying????? He used to operate PIA charter flights to Sierra Leone in 2003....

Yes, Capt. Saeed Khan still flying as Boeing 747 commander in PIA.

Capt. Dara is a great friend of my father. He first met him when he was Captain on 707.

Is PIA still grounding three 747 because of section 41 work???

The retirement of these 12 captains should alone ground two 747s.

Plus I think it was cheetah who said no new 747 captains were being trained.

Could inducedrag please post the list of all 747 captains, plus their retirement dates.

60th birthday minus one day as on 60 he can not fly any more in airline of Pakistan
