This decision has been taken due to low crew productivity. For ULR flights, the flight crew can not be utilized 42 hours before the flight and for 72 hours after return. The crew shortage was in turn hampering the utilization of the T7 fleet.

It is thus perhaps the moment to swap these birds, even if I was against this before. But now there is absolutely no reason to keep them :?

A lack within PIA's management to produce the required crew, despite knowing YEARS in advance about the upcoming requirement, is no reason to change an aircraft.

Doesnt it make more sense to solve the problem, ie lack of management, rather than to get rid of one of the few advantages that PIA has (ie non stop KHI YYZ)?

Can PIA hire foreign pilots for B777 aircraft to overcome crew shortage?

PIA is going to receive its first two B777-300ERs and a leased B777-200ER in coming months. With the arrival of these three aircraft the total number of B777s in PIA fleet will become eight. Does the airline have enough crew to operate eight B777s within next few months?

Air India have 3 777's and they have quite a few foreign pilots due to shortage. Maybe PIA should do the same if indeed there is a shortage.

The 777-LRs is the best move PIA has made. The non-stop flights to YYZ is very appealing to many people who would not normally use PIA. I'm sure soon The US will allow non-stop flights. For the time being, i would like PIA to use their 777LRs to their potential on KHI-DXB-ORD-DXB-KHI until non-stop services get the go-ahead. I'm sure ORD-DXB-ORD itself would prove very popular twice a week to Pakistanis in Chicago who want to stop in DXB on the way to PAK, as PIA has very competative fares. PAK is already served very well from DXB.

They should also start KHI-SYD on the LR as well.

Yes, PIA non stop flight from YYZ to PAK and vice versa are necesary. PIA must not give up the 777-200LR's at all. Yes, if PIA can do it then DXB to ORD would be great as non-stop destination. PIA management needs to plan strategically and will get good bang for the buck for utlizing the 777-200LR properly.

PIA management must look into getting pilots from abroad if they cannot internally.

salam hello
yes AP-BGJ BGK BGL will have to stopover Manchester if weight more than 298000kg. If less than 298000kg will nonstop from Pak to YYZ. 777LR and 777ER mixed up flight when haji flight time and fly to moscow, Chicago, Houston, Dhaka, Mumbai, Delhi, Jeddah, etc. you know my first time flew AP-BGZ from Chicago to Manchester last few weeks ago.
I missed AP-BGY and I hope fly AP-BGY one day inshallah.
you please keep watch ER to Toronto and LR to Chicago and Houston and other place.
777ER max fueal 137000kg and 777LR max fuel 154000kg no problem. ER can do fly up to 20hours and LR fly up to 23hours no problem.
ER high speed mach 0.86 and feet 39000feet to 43000feet more than LR speed mach 0.83 and 31000feet to 37000feet low.
I like AP-BGJ BGK BGL good quick fast speed and high feet.
AP-BGZ slow and low feet because of GE90-110B fan different from ER GE90-94B
best wishes and kindest regards
