PIA cancels Quetta flights

QUETTA, July 13: PIA cancelled all its flights to Quetta on Thursday.

PIA sources told newsmen that four flights were cancelled on Thursday due to dusty weather in the valley.

The flights cancelled were as follows: Pk-363 Islamabad-Quetta-Karachi, PK-352-Karachi-Quetta-Islamabad, PK-323 Lahore-Quetta and PK-322 Quetta-Lahore.

A severe dust storm hit the valley for the third consecutive day on Thursday, reducing visibility to less than a kilometre.

PIA flights to Quetta restored

QUETTA, July 14: The air link between Quetta and the rest of the country was restored on Friday following improvement in visibility in the valley. The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operated all its flights to and from Quetta today.

It may be recalled here that PIA flights between Quetta and the rest of the country were cut off on Thursday as dust storms in the valley had reduced visibility to just 500 metres.—PPI
