There is a tradition in west. When a new aircraft joins or is retired from an an airline or when a captain is making his last flight before retirement, or any other important event e.g PIA 777 arriving at Manchester on its delivery flight, the airport fire truck(s) make(s) an arch with their water turrets and the aircraft passes beneath on its way to stands. Is there any such tradition here in Pakistan or PIA???? or we are too busy for such niceties.
Can someone please guide me how to insert an image, both off net and from hard disk into the post?

The water cannnon salute never caught on in PIA. however there was a practice of a little celebration on a pilot's retirement. This was revived by Capt Bakhtyar (ex-DFO) where all available chief Pilots including the DFO would recieve the retiring pilot from his last flight and a cake cutting ceremony was held. On Capt Asif's return.. it was conviniently put to an end.
