CAA's revenue doubles

KARACHI, July 10: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has doubled its revenue over the past three years. According to a press release, the CAA board was informed on Monday that from Rs5.4 billion in 2003, the revenue swelled to Rs10.2 billion in the fiscal year ending on June 30.The authority claimed that its expenditure since 2003 were kept to the ‘bare minimum’ and from Rs5.4 billion in 2003 it closed at Rs5.5 billion on June 30 this year.

The press release said that the CAA was expecting Rs10.7 billion revenue with expenditure of Rs5.9 billion, leaving a surplus of Rs4.8 billion.

What do we expect them to make a loss :roll: With the money they just recieved from Aero Asia (Regal Group), Shaheen Air and other airlines fees that have not started yet. Also as Pakistan airports have high landing fees - im sure that played a part too. :roll:

Now, i hope they use these profits in good causes haha... which i doubt and improve the standards of airports with more facilites for passengers at all airports not just the intl ones.
