Half price PIA ticket

Passenger went to Karachi air port today (10.4.2006) one hour before the flight and picked up half price stand by ticket for Karachi to Lahore ... just for Rs.2550. This standby half price practice is not being advertised but is available.

Hi I was in Islamabad on 31st of March. there was a big advertisement in regards to PIA offering half price fares to Karachi, Lahore etc... condition was you had to buy at least 2 hours before departure..

Not being advertised??? There were so many ads in newspapers regarding the Stand by fare offered by PIA.

Fact of the matter is that I am not in Karachi or Lahore , so I am not aware of this advertisment .That was the news I received when I rang up some one in Pakistan ( from Oxford ) so I posted it . Advertised or not being advertised in that degree.. I do not know ... that passenge might have no knowledge about this advertisment.

PIA announced ‘Standby Special’ fares in February 2006.

Well as a matter of fact I travelled yesterday from Karachi to lahore and all the advertisement I can find on airport in this regard was a poster hanging behing the booking chap's chair in PIA office and ironically there is not even a single poster in the main booking office of PIA. I know frequent flyers do get that information but first time travellers and occassional travelers are still pretty much in the dark
