I bought 2 Ecomony Plus tickets for $1195.00 per ticket. What did you pay???

I bought ORD-Lahore-ORD for $ 1040 for economy mid april

My brother also bought JFK-Lahore-JFK for $1040

wow! I can't believe this! Most of my YYZ-KHI trips come to C$1500 in economy and C$4000 in Business!

It sure does. In Rupees, it came to 60500 after all the discounts from the travel agent. The original price from PIA is 64400. This is an Economy Return ticket.

umar is right ... its around 65K PKR. return from KHI - YYZ now since the direct flights started .... so maybe u can actually get a seat for a $1000 too

Thats because of basic economics i.e. demand and supply. There is more supply of seats and aggressive competition out of NYC than there is out of YYZ. Also YYZ taxes are over $ 150-180 more than NYC taxes. For example, if you fly AC-EK via LHR to KHI, your tax is $ 250 however if you fly AA-EK via JFK-DXB to KHI from YYZ then your tax is only $ 110.

For Karachi, my aunt from ORD (dads sister) always buys her tickets from http://www.orbitz.com because you get the best deals to KHI from there.

For example, she flew Feb 8-28 on LH/UAL-EK to KHI and back from ORD and only paid US $ 884 all taxes inclusive buying the ticket from http://www.orbitz.com

She is flying again Dec 8th-29th to KHI from ORD and bought a ticket for those dates for $ 1202 all inclusive on AA-QR going and returning EK-AA.

For KHI, I advise all of you to first check http://www.orbitz.com and then call your local American Pakistani travel agent and compare prices.

I thought that there was less tax flying YYZ-JFK-DXB-KHI than YYZ-LHR-DXB-KHI because of LHR taxes not YYZ taxes?

I have found that too. Generally, when looking for tickets for friends, I combine tickets (end-on-end) so the person goes YYZ-ORD-FRA-DXB-KHI. It is an extra stop, but the fare comes out at less than 1000$USD. However the availability is a huge problem, so I usually have to end up going with the C$1500 fare

It will probably be more expensive, because late july is peak season whereas June is the shoulder season between peak and off peak.
