PIA Manchester Transit Procedure

Post by pkjet »

Assalam-Alaikum to everyone who emailed me regarding the procedures for transiting at Manchester. I am putting the answers on the forum so moreof you will become familiar with stopping over in Manchester !:
------------------------------------------ :o

1. Upon the aircraft's arrival at stand, passengers who are disembarking at Manchester will be asked to leave the aircraft first and to have their passports and boarding passe ready for further inspection. All other passengers will be asked to remain seated until a further call has been made.

2. Once all Manchester passengers have cleared the airbridge, all remaining passengers will be asked to disembark the aircraft along with ALL items of handluggage and passports and upon leaving the aircraft/airbridge(depending on whether aircraft is on an airbridge or remote stand) will be given a transit boarding pass. These passes are different colours as sometimes you have 3 PIA flights in at the same time and it helps to identify the relevant passengers !
Business+Plus passengers are invited to use the Escape Executive Lounge which is located opposite gate 208.

3. Transit passengers are then directed to the transit area by SAS staff(PIA's handling agent) and once through security can take a lift or stairs upto Departures level and shop, eat, drink, make calls etc until the flight is called for boarding. Transit passengers will then board first and lastly any joining passengers will board the aircraft.

Easy as ABC ?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NO WAY MAN !!!

Firstly no one wants to get off but Everyone is standing up when the aircraft arrives hindering MAN pax from a speedy getaway! quite a few passengers are ill in some sort of way and complaining that their handluggage is too heavy ?!! Which is why PIA have set a 7kg policy for your safety and comfort.

PIA is actually fined for leaving any passengers onboard, especially on westbound flights. As per UK law, EVERYONE has to come off but obviously exceptions are made for elderly passengers and sometimes those with really small kids.

I hope you will all spread the word and help make transiting at Manchester a pleasant experience for all concerned !
You can't be all things to all people...so just be nice !

PIA should market the Manchester on-off circus as a preventative measure against Deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Something along the lines of... At PIA we care about your circulatory health, so on our transatlantic flights we ensure that every one of our passengers receives a work out at our Manchester exercise facility. The work-out consists of picking up all baggage, walking off the aircraft and through a security checkpoint, then jogging up a staircase with luggage in hand. Finally, everyone gets to rush through the boarding gate and walk down another set of stairs before getting back into their seat and resuming their journey. All for your health.
