Lahore - Karachi Dep 12:45 Arr 14:30
there is absolutely no need for this additional segment of the flight which will dramatically increase the operating costs of the flight not to mention the fuel...hopeless planning!!!

I know for a fact that the Lahore flights will eventually become nonstop.

If we wanted to stop off in Dubai, we have dear EK for that.

Hopeless planning, but it's just to see the load contribution !

the reason why PIA will be stopping over in Dubai is to drain pax from EK...since a large number of pax come onboard in dxb..and this will help flights from khi...

Instead of the aircraft travelling back to KHI from Lahore can't PIA just connect the pax on PK214 which departs at 09:00

You make a good point there B777240ER. But with EK flying daily to DXB from GLA with connections to KHI, i don't think anyone will travel to KHI on PK from GLA. PK are providing just one a week flight to KHI with 2 stops, and that also on an A310.

Why Have they added DXB and LHE when They can easily do it with a nonstop flight??
How can they think of competing with EK with just 2xweekly frequency??

Are they Planning to Make DXB their HUB like MAN??

How cheaper will the ticket for GLA on PIA be compared to EK's fare on this route.

Whats with the 'Special' thingy? They've said that with the KUL, SIN and NBO routes as well. Can't figure out the special bit at all.

PIA starts Glasgow operations

RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE (November 17 2005): PIA has started flight operations to Glasgow from Lahore and Islamabad with PK-777, which left Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Wednesday morning carrying 142 passengers.

Glasgow is the 4th destination in United Kingdom after London, Manchester and Birmingham. National flag carrier now flies twice-weekly flights for Glasgow both from Lahore and Islamabad.

First Glasgow is Scotland's Capital City and annually over two million people from abroad visit to experience the magic of Scotland. With the introduction of this flight, PIA - in its bid to cater to the ever-changing travel needs of its passengers, especially, Pakistanis residing in Glasgow and suburbs offers a direct link to and from their homeland.

PIA Lahore District Manager Tariq Ismail, Station Manager Aqil Bin Shareef and other PIA senior officials were present at the occasion.

I think Edinborough is the capital of scotland not Glasgow, althogh Glasgow is a bigger city then Edinborough.

Well, I travele between SYD > PAK > GLA at least six times a year on emirates. I dont see the advantage in flying with PIA to Glasgow, since both PIA and Emirates take exactly the same rought but emirates have more frequencies then PIA.
