Qatar Airways Islamabad to Doha Boeing 777 Flight QR633 Makes Medical Emergency Landing in Karachi

On June 6, Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300ER aircraft registration A7-BAV as flight QR633 to Doha departed from Islamabad at 3:44 AM and landed on Karachi Airport Runway 25L at 5:30 AM due to a passenger feeling unwell.

The ailing passenger received treatment from Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) medical team at Karachi Airport.

The aircraft stayed in Karachi for 1 hour 22 minutes. It left Karachi at 6:52 AM to complete flight QR633 to Doha.

Same case with many other emergency landings flights near gawadr still prefer landing at karachi to due all facilities available.

If the aircraft diverted and it encountered a technical issue upon landing or departure, what engineering facilities are available on the ground for B777 at UET or GWD?

In case the aircraft is no longer serviceable after diversion, what hotels are available in either of those cities to safely keep passengers until the aircraft is repaired or a replacement is flown in?

Not flying to a particular airport for a medical emergency is not a political statement. The airline has to consider multiple factors before making a decision. QR has no presence in UET/GWD, whereas they do in KHI so arrangements can be made quicker in case something goes wrong.

In case of medical emergency, SOP is to land at a 'nearest suitable airport', which covers all operational and technical aspects. Moreover KHI is a regular QR network station, more suitable for diversion.
What if the sick passenger and his/her fellow passengers (if any) had to be offloaded, wouldn't KHI be a more suitable option than being stranded at Gwadar?
