The Lufthansa A340-600 have underground lavatories.

I love the A340-600, If PIA could buy those used ones after the Privatization. I would be much better.
Buying an old fuel inefficient aircraft with a shrinking spare parts market just because it has underground lavatories sounds exactly like the decision making process of PIA executives. You may yet have some hope of seeing your dreams fulfilled. :D
Its not about the bathrooms, A340 has first class, business class, Premium Economy and Economy. It could satisfy those Pakistanis coming from UK and America/Canada, as we know UK and America/Canada spend so money on plane tickets with Qatar and Emirates to visit Pakistan. Our Pakistani Diaspora love to make TikToks on PIA's cabin conditions.

I will see my dream come true, PIA having a A350 and B787.
Every jet can have a tri-class layout. It's not about the jet it's about to the airlines choice. Pakistan is a price sensitive market and that's why business and first class is not popular here. As for upper class overseas Pakistanis they would choose ME3 business class over any. Even if PIA refurbishes their premium products it still won't match the quality of ME3. Also amongst overseas Pakistanis, and people in general, PIA does not have a good reputation so if they are paying that much they would might as well spend it on another airline.

PIA has potential to be like the ME3 airlines, we should be like the ME3. Our cabin, and services.
Not really, the ME3 cater to middle to high income groups whereas PIA only caters to Pakistanis who are more price sensitive (with the exception of Pakistanis in Canada and America). PIA has a natural monopoly over a lot of routes owing to their position in pakistan, but at the end of the day, it doesn't make sense to offer premium services to consumers who would much rather get to their destination for cheaper. PIA should focus on maintaining a basic standard (cleanliness, maintenance wise) but to go as far as providing first class seats is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. An economy, economy premium and business class configuration would make the most sense on long haul flights with aircrafts like b787 or a350 (easier to fill compared to a b777 which can be used on high capacity routes like MAN to ISB).
When we get the B787/A350 we need to have a new cabin, high quality economy, premium economy and Business class at a good price. After Privatization, the new management need to focus on cleanliness and maintenance. This 2nd Privatization attempt will be sell 100% share of PIA including administrative control, at least they can get rid of all the employees and get new ones.

I think pia will get 787/a350 after 5-10 years after the whole privatisation process and refurbish the current planes to try make the company a profitable airline

PIA should go for an all Airbus fleet

1.A220-100 for domestic regional flights replacing the ATR
2. A320neo for domestic and international replacing the current A320s
3.A321XLR for East Asia and Europe
4.A350-900 for long haul replacing the 777 Fleet
5. A350-1000 for high density routes replacing the 777 Fleet

In the transition period A330neos could be leased to phase out some of the older 777s

That's a better list of fleet.

For a comman fleet and easy transition this is the better choice a220 is a good option but too many engine issues Atr is the better choice for a small aviation industry which Pakistan has become

Atr 72
A320 Neo
A321 Neo (LR/XLR) as per route requirements
A350-900s 8-10 are enough

A350-1000 is 777-300 replacement but PIA is utilizing only 1/2 or them so 900s cam cover the gap

my source told me once that the ATR72s PIA had, cannot climb efficiently to clear terrain in northern airfields, hence they were deployed on southern routes or with airfields having no terrain, hence better option is ATR42, if ATRs needed to be continued in future or maybe new ATR72s could :-k

If PIA needs to keep its STOL capabilities and the CAA won’t be willing to upgrade the Airports a fleet of ATR42-600 would be best for these regional flights

The issue is maintaining them. Look at the current fleet and the age of the B777 that are missing parts. Whereas there are airline with B777s flying with an age of around 20 years. I recall back in 2016 an interview with a ceo of PIA for an aviation magazine who admitted the airline was having cashflow problems as a result they are unable to source the parts they need.

After Privatization, so much will have to be done. Employees, Parts, refurbish cabins, make the airline profitable and about 15 new planes.

PIA will be Privatized on July, the winner could be YB Holdings or the 3rd bidder who will appear by surprise.

After Privatization, PIA will need about 10 to 15 news planes either by dry leasing or buying straight on Money. PIA should go for Lufthsana's A340s, that Lufthansa will retire by the end of October 2025.

Those A340s would be great for the UK Flights and American Flights.
I totally disagree, I think the only planes which would suit PIA would be A350-900/1000 and B787-9/10, this is because the A340’s are now outdated. The only 4 engine plane which is still in trend is the A380-800 model, which would be difficult or pretty much impossible for PIA to acquire and maintain due to its sheer size. I think PIA should avoid the A340’s idea and go for A350 or B787 as they would both be able to fly to ultra long haul destinations such as New York and Toronto, and also to the long haul destinations such as Manchester, Birmingham, London and Kuala Lumpur. In my opinion, PIA purchasing A350’s or B787’s would make the airline more flexible again, this is clearly because as we know only the two Boeing 777-200LR’s (BGZ/BGY) can fly to Toronto, and the normal Boeing 777-200s don’t have enough range to fly there. We also know that the Boeing 777-300ER can’t fly to ultra long haul destinations such as Canada, because they only have one operative which is AP-BMS which is mainly used on Jeddah - Islamabad/Lahore/Peshawar/Karachi Flights.

Well I agree with the A350-900/1000 and B787-9/10 should be used for long haul trips, but regarding the A380 it will be difficult for PIA to acquire it. Maybe they can buy a used A380, if the 3rd bidder who will come by surprise in the bidding process, this will likely be Mian Mansha. He may win the bidding, you know he has loads of money. He can buy as much B787 and A350s, and even one A380.

I don't see A380 even remotely in PIA, the airline can't fill a Boeing 777 for the West, let's forget about the A380.

Well, If someone does plan to make PIA better again by getting B787’s and A350’s, they should sell their other aircraft’s too such as the A320’s and B777’s. I think the only B777 they should keep is AP-BMS, it’s in fairly much better condition compared to its sister ships AP-BMG/AP-BGZ/AP-BGY. They should maybe lease out one of their newer and good conditioned B777 as a back up and use the rest of the money on buying newer aircraft’s and making PIA a better airline again.

This is a crippled national airline that serves an underdeveloped market where only a small majority can afford air travel we are talking about. It is inappropriate to even dream about acquiring an A380.
