Re: New Airline "South Air" to launch flights to Northern Areas in pakistan
Im not sure what "Northern Areas" refers to. If it refers to operating flights between cities such as Lahore and Islamabad, they might be able to turn a profit. But if they're referring to flights between Lahore and Skardu, Islamabad and citral etc. Im not sure how that business model will work out. Travel demand here is very seasonal to begin with. Then there's the added complication of flight cancelations, diversions, delays etc. due to conditions like weather which will definitely cause financial problems for the airlines. Im all for having newer, more unique airlines in Pakistan but I cannot find the line between being unique and being unprofitable. I do hope they successfully earn a profit and expand, but until more details are public, I'm not very optimistic about their plan.
