The Airport expansion will happen soon, but this will be great for international flights coming to Sukkur.

Long overdue, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and other cities deserve a functional airport, and it can be serviced by airlines like Air Arabia. This will reduce the stress on Karachi airport.

What stress on Karachi airport? Karachi airport is not even operating at or near to its maximum capacity. Built 30 years ago, this airport is still operating at half of its capacity. What a shame and disgrace. The whole facility is in utter degraded state, and to make it worse this is the first impression of the country. Apart from the busy hours of late night/early morning, the boarding gates are almost empty. A sad state of affair, given that this airport serves almost all of Sindh and Karachi which has a huge population.

Agreed, whenever I've seen Karachi airport to be overcrowded, it's due to mismanagement and not because the airport is operating at it's max capacity. It's good that Sukkur is getting international flights but honestly, there's no stress on Karachi airport tbh. Despite being the busiest station in Pakistan, we've hardly seen any major disruption in it's operations.

Well first, thing first is that competition is key. So, if more airports in Pakistan can give the major city airports competition in terms of attracting new air service, then I am all for it. Though it also a headache at times when your base can be smaller city, and you have to drive several hours to major city catch a flight. Cities like Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad, and Quetta have international service. You have to remember some of the profitable and best hubs and routes for the US3 aren't always their flagship routes or hubs. So, I think few cities in Sindh can also have their fair share of international service too, obviously if our airports meet our minimum requirements, and airlines think they can sustain such routes then it's a win. If passenger ops can't be profitable then at least the airport can operate international cargo flights. Airlines that might be interest outside of Pakistan might be Salaam Air, Flydubai, Flyadeal, Flynas, WizzAir Abu Dhabi, and Air Arabia. I am quite aware none of these airports in Pakistan aren't operating at full capacity, and they're very mismanaged, staff lack proper training, and infrastructure not well maintained. With the correct management, organization skills, and cooperation between the airlines and management it can be win - win for all including passengers. Yes, it is very sad that our airports state is very mismanaged, especially this is the first place that our guest and citizens return too.
