From 30th March onwards, Pegasus Airlines increases its frequencies on Istanbul-Karachi flights from 4 weekly to daily flights.

That’s great. Would be good to see them at other stations too but I’m not familiar with the ASA between Pakistan and Turkey.
At one point SunExpress we’re going to start services too

Maybe airblue can start flights to SAW from LHE and ISB and work with Pegasus. I am sure pegasus won't mind additional passengers from these two stations. I'd say 8× weekly flights, 4× for both stations. Gives a good station for Airblue to fly their high density NEOs.
Also, in recent times we've seen airlines like Pegasus, Batik Air Malaysia, Ethiopian airlines etc.. start flights for KHI but still PIA couldn't bother trying to regain KHI's market. As if these other airlines don't face competition from EK and other ME carriers out of KHI.

The same Pegasus Airlines that is part of the YB Holdings Consortium, their CEO met the Minister of Privatization Aleem Khan. If YB Holdings Consortium wins the bid, we will likely see PIA's new CEO being from Pegasus Airlines. Sometimes things can change.

That would se so great, as airblue can easily fill up aircrafts from LHE and ISB with passengers flying on Pegasus to Europe onwards.Karachi Aviator wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:39 pm Maybe airblue can start flights to SAW from LHE and ISB and work with Pegasus. Pegasus has a huge and extensive European network. It even flies to cities where other big players do not fly to.
Pegasus is a very successful, highly profitable airline of Turkey. With 117 aircraft (the youngest fleet in Turkey as they say) and 130+ destinations, they would be a great partner to cooperate with for Pakistani airlines.
But airblue which lacks vision and motivation to grow, I dont think it will be interested in cooperating with Pegasus.

Also I do not think that low cost carriers face a strong competition, given the effective low pricing strategies and low cost model. LCC carriers, such as Pegasus, AirArabia, and Batik Air Malaysia are not bothered by competition from Emirates or other legacy carriers as Pakistani market is a highly price sensitive market, and these LCCs are doing very well in Pakistan.
Batik Air has a daily flight to Lahore and sends its A330s quite frequently to Lahore.
AirArabia flies 3 times a day from Karachi to Sharjah.
I hope Ajet and Sunexpress also fly to Pakistan in the future as they are also huge airlines in terms of fleet and destinations.

That can be a positive change, A professional airline management can only manage to turnaround PIA, further they can lease their own jets to PIA to expand operationsPIA330 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:45 pm The same Pegasus Airlines that is part of the YB Holdings Consortium, their CEO met the Minister of Privatization Aleem Khan. Re: Pegasus Airlines Increases Frequencies for Karachi Flights
The point is that not a single Pakistani airline is able to sustain 2-3 flights a week to Istanbul as the demand between Pakistan and Turkey is not sufficient enough. The only way where a Pakistani airline would be able to make this work is only by cooperation with airlines of Turkey for onward connections. Apart from that, there is a low point to point market, and this why Middle eastern and turkish carriers are successful in Pakistani markets because of the transfer passengers.Usman123 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:48 pm Also these airlines continuous get offered slots in a one way transaction!

With the exception of the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UK, no other market from Pakistan is strong enough to pave ways for direct daily flights.
So the point of no flights by Pakistani airlines to Turkey has nothing to do with granting of air traffic rights, instead it has to do with unprofessional managements of Pakistani airlines and weak markets.

Sometimes consortiums can change too, we have saw in January the CEO of Pegasus Airlines meeting minister of Privatization and in August we saw the Board of Director of Pegasus Airlines meeting with the Finance Minister while being accompanied by the Tabba (YB Holdings)Usman123 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:46 pmThat can be a positive change, A professional airline management can only manage to turnaround PIA, further they can lease their own jets to PIA to expand operationsPIA330 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:45 pm The same Pegasus Airlines that is part of the YB Holdings Consortium, their CEO met the Minister of Privatization Aleem Khan. In all honesty Turkish Airlines is interested in our routes. These Gulf Airlines like Emirates, Qatar, Etihad and then you have that 1 European airline that Turkish Airlines. They are all on the same page of stealing our routes, they know our routes have so much money and possibilities.HassanKhan wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:45 pmI believe PIA does codeshare (w TK) and independent flights to IST from LHE and ISB a few times a weekUsman123 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:48 pm Also these airlines continuous get offered slots in a one way transaction!
