Cabinet to Review Investigation of Irresponsible Statements on Pakistani Pilot Licenses Made by the Government in 2020

Post by Abbas Ali »

Federal cabinet meeting on January 30 to review investigation of irresponsible statements on the authenticity of Pakistani pilot licenses made by the government/ministers/officials in June 2020.

Following the damaging statements, in July 2020 Pakistani airlines were banned from operating commercial passenger/cargo flights to European Union (EU) members states, UK and USA. PIA suffered heavy losses due to suspension of these flights.

Ghulam Sarwar should be Jailed or atleast fined heavily for what he did to the Pakistani aviation industry.

I think it’s better to leave this in the past, yes his words damaged the pakistani aviation industry a lot however now the ban has been lifted in EU and soon UK too. The focus should now be on the future and building trust in Pakistan Aviation from the west. Going back to what Ghulam said just really feels like a waste of time

With that logic we should forgive every criminal caught after they have committed a crime in the past! Wonderful

Federal Cabinet has approved formation of a fact finding committee to determine motives behind irresponsible statements on the authenticity of Pakistani pilot licenses made by the government/ministers/officials in June 2020.

Fact finding committee to also determine amount of losses suffered by the national exchequer and PIA due to suspension of Pakistani airlines' flights to EU, UK and USA.

I doubt there is any legal ground on which the former minister may be prosecuted. Additionally, yes the comments were irresponsible but perhaps they were the need of the hour given our mentality is such that we need a slap on the wrist by someone else (EASA) to amend our ways.

Question is, was there no fake license found? If so, then yes go ahead and punish the ex minister:

Fact finding committee should also call ex CEO PIA Arshad Malik and Ex ADG CAA Usaid Ur Rehman, along with Ghulam Sarwar. Since all of them together cooked up the story to destroy Pakistan’s aviation. With the sole intention of targeting civilian pilots. Both Usaid ur Rehman and Arshad Malik have conveniently retired. Should be called back into inquiry.
