The aircraft departed from Dammam Airport Runway 34L at 1:54 AM and landed safely on Dammam Airport Runway 34R at 2:45 AM i.e 51 minutes after takeoff. Maximum altitude gained by the aircraft 27,750 feet. PIA Airbus A320 aircraft registration AP-BLC is powered by two CFM56 engines.

The aircraft returned to Dammam due to some technical issue with its communication system, according to airline's spokesperson. Engineers examined the plane and found no faults.
Later, the aircraft departed from Dammam at 5:47 AM to complete flight PK244 to Lahore. The aircraft remained on the ground at Dammam Airport for 3 hours & 2 minutes.
