PIA flight from Muscat to Peshawar safely lands in Karachi after technical emergency

A PIA flight from Muscat to Peshawar made an emergency landing in Karachi due to a technical failure.

Flight PK 260 took off from Muscat at 5:22 AM local time, but experienced a technical malfunction 30 minutes after departure while in Pakistani airspace, Express News reported,

According to sources, as the flight was passing over Turbat, a malfunction occurred in the aircraft's hydraulic system, following which the plane descended from an altitude of 36,000 feet to 8,000 feet within seven minutes.

The pilot promptly declared an emergency and redirected the flight toward Karachi, continuing the journey at below 8,000 feet. The plane made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport at 7:08 AM.

A PIA spokesperson stated that due to the availability of engineering and maintenance facilities, aircraft are brought to Karachi. The flight was landed in Karachi as a precaution, and all necessary measures were taken to ensure there was no risk to flight safety.

Passengers were taken care of at Karachi Airport and were sent onward via PK 368

Probably this aircraft also experienced some issue with cabin pressurization and that's why descended to 8,000 feet altitude?

On September 29, PIA Airbus A320 (aircraft registration AP-BLS) as flight PK260 to Peshawar departed from Muscat at 4:22 AM and landed at Karachi Airport at 7:08 AM after experiencing technical problem.

The A320 cruising at an altitude of 37,000 feet began descending around 6:13 AM (Pakistan Time). After deseeding to 8,000 feet altitude around 6:32 AM (Pakistan Time), the A320 landed safely at Karachi Airport at 7:08 AM.

Flight PK260 was scheduled to leave Muscat at 2:30 AM and arrive in Peshawar at 6:10 AM.

According to PIA spokesperson, the airline adjusted flight PK260 passengers in airline's Karachi to Islamabad flight PK368. PIA does not operate flights between Karachi and Peshawar.

68 passengers adjusted in Karachi to Islamabad flight and remaining passengers accommodated in hotels in Karachi, according to Geo News.

On September 29, PIA Airbus A320 (aircraft registration AP-BOM) as flight PK368 left Karachi at 1:46 PM and arrived in Islamabad at 3:16 PM.

PIA has made arrangement for the transportation of flight PK260 passengers from Islamabad to Peshawar.

They need to ground and fix BLS. It has had way too many pressurisation failures at this point.

AP BLY & BLS are always highlight as technical issues.
True BLY has an aborted take off from Dubai to Multan flight.

On October 1, PIA Airbus A320 aircraft registration AP-BLS returned to service when it left Karachi at 8:13 AM as flight PK302 to Lahore.

On September 29, PIA Airbus A320 (aircraft registration AP-BLS) Muscat to Peshawar flight PK260 diverted to Karachi due to loss of cabin pressurization.

The incident has been rated as serious by Pakistan's Bureau of Air Safety Investigation (BASI).
