Land to be acquired for Faisalabad Airport runway extension apparently to enable Boeing 777 category wide-body aircraft flight operations at the airport.
Faisalabad Airport is accommodating 32 weekly flights including 4 domestic, according to Faisalabad Airport Manager Tasneem Akhtar Jameel. She said that more airlines are planning to start flights for Faisalabad.

Faisalabad International Airport has been certified for aircraft operations up to aerodrome reference code 4D or below for the time period from May 29, 2023, to May 29, 2026, with following conditions:
A) Width of the runway strip Runway 21L will be 105 meters on the eastern side (right side of Runway 21L).
B) Aircraft operations shall be undertaken compatible to equivalent surface strength published for apron to be used.
Faisalabad Airport runways:
Primary Runway 03R/21L 9,272 feet long
Secondary Runway 03L/21R 9,272 feet long

Aerodrome with 4D reference code allows operation of passenger/cargo aircraft up to category of Boeing 767/McDonnell Douglas MD-11

Newly elected President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Rehan Naseem Bharara invited Chief Operating Officer (COO)/Airport Manager (APM) of Faisalabad International Airport Tasneem Akhtar Jameel to discuss the growth of aviation activities in the city.

Sub-committee on aviation was formed to address aviation-related challenges. Key stakeholders, including representatives from exports, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors, participated. Discussions focused on constructing a cargo complex, airport expansion for wide-body cargo aircraft, airline slot availability, Airports Security Force (ASF) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) staff behavior and a Commercially Important Person (CIP)/Business Lounge.
