Status of PIA ATR operations??

In 2006-07 PIA replaced its then ancient F.27 fleet with seven ATR42-500s.

2012 AP-BHJ crashed landed in Lahore damaged beyond repair. (6 years old)
2015 AP-BHN grounded and scrapped for spare parts (9 years old)
2016 AP-BHO crashed on a flight from Chitral (9 years old)
2019 AP-BHP crash landed in Gilgit damaged beyond repair (12 years old)
2021 AP-BHH has not flown for over three years and probably scrapped for parts.

Out of the two ATRs in service one goes out of service frequently.

How is PIA managing its flights to stations that were frequently getting these aircraft.

Specifically Gilgit, Chitral and Gwader. With Two grounded ATR72-500s, why not use them on certain routes??

For regional operations, PIA should create a subsidiary airline like Air India express and operate as a low cost airline post privatisation. They're just terrible at maintaining the ATR fleet. A separate subsidiary division will allow them to focus more on the ATR fleet

Could this be a trend that continued with the ATR42 fleet, losing five out of seven aircraft within 12 years.

Could poor training of the cockpit crew have anything to do with the large number of losses in the ATR and before that F.27 fleet.

Pakistan CAA should upgrade airports like Chitral, Gilgit and Saidu Sharif for all weather operations by regional jets.

Regional jets can also replace PIA ATR turboprop operations to destinations like Muscat, Al Ain, Gwadar, Turbat, Sukkur etc.

Wishful thinking. A regulatory body that is still stuck in the "shoe lace license booklet" era can not be expected to make such drastic changes.

I am not dreaming, but you should be reading.

I am asking a question. Fokker conducted a report in the 1970s and concluded that the large number of F27s crashed in Pakistan was due to the junior pilots being inducted by PIA and being flown on the fokkers.

PIA continued that trend by inducting 250 hour rookies on the ATR42s.
