PIA Restores Air Connectivity Between Faisalabad and Karachi[

Faisalabad, June 9, 2024 - Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its flight operations between Faisalabad and Karachi. The resumption of these flights will add more convenience for the business community and the general public, a PIA spokesperson said on Sunday. He noted that the National Flag Carrier has resumed its domestic operations after a gap of seven months, which was due to fleet constraints. PIA will now operate four weekly flights between the two industrial hubs of Pakistan.

The first flight, carrying 170 passengers, departed for Karachi from Faisalabad. The launch of these flights will also provide convenience to passengers traveling abroad via Karachi. PIA always strives to provide the fastest travel services to the people of Pakistan, and these flights will be especially beneficial for the business community of Faisalabad and the people of the surrounding areas.



A simple ceremony was held at Faisalabad Airport, where a cake was cut and flowers were presented to the passengers. PIA District Manager Shahid Hussain, Station Manager Mohammad Irfan and officials from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Airports Security Force (ASF) saw off the passengers, the spokesperson concluded.

170 passengers is a good load factor on this sector, connecting the largest city of the country with the 3rd largest city. However I don't understand this culture of holding ceremonies for pretty much everything. It's definitely not a new route which they are celebrating, it was shut down due to shortage of fleet.

Between Pakistan’s third largest city and Pakistan’s largest city, there is barely a single daily flight which is a disappointing factor given that the first flight had a very good load factor of 170 passengers on an Airbus A320. If the load factors are generally like this, this can easily sustain a daily flight at least.

Maybe, FlyJinnah can look into sector since rest of the private airlines are miserable.
