Apparently, after a long time PIA operated a flight to Chitral. On April 18, PIA ATR 42-500 aircraft registration AP-BHH left Islamabad at 1:59 PM as flight PK6660 to Chitral.
People associated with tourism industry have demanded resumption of PIA flights to Chitral from Peshawar and Islamabad for bringing tourists to picturesque Lower Chitral District.

New Management should consider reintroducing the Twin Otter. Routes like this as well as many others could become viable. Pakistan desperately needs intercity and regional connectivity. Viking Air offer modernised versions of the aircraft.
All these socio economic / secondary routes can perform well if they offer onward connections to international stations (ME mainly). A city like Bahawalpur which has a larger population than Sialkot has no direct air connections domestically. If stations like Bahawalpur, Rahim yar khan, D.I Khan etc.. can be connected to larger stations like Islamabad and Karachi, then they have a decent potential with onward connections to international flights.
