Ethiopian Airlines Working to Expand Flight Operations to Islamabad and Lahore

On March 21, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan Jemal Beker during visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) highlighted critical role being played by Ethiopia in "Look Africa" & "Engage Africa" policies by starting Ethiopian Airlines operations between Addis Ababa and Karachi.

"Ethiopian Airlines in Pakistan is getting an overwhelming response and now we are working towards expansion of its operations to Islamabad and Lahore as well," the Ambassador noted.


In May 2023, Ethiopian Airlines started scheduled flights between Addis Ababa and Karachi with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

yes...embassy of Sweden is operating from Ethiopia..and unfortunately people have to goto all the to Ethiopia to apply for Swedish visa..

Glad to hear this route is a success. Miss the days of seeing diverse tails in Pakistani airports.

At one point there was also discussion of Egypt air returning to Pakistan. More the direct connectively pakistan has, the better.
