PIA Airbus A320 Peshawar to Abu Dhabi Flight PK217 Experiences Inertial Navigation System (INS) Failure

On March 11, PIA Airbus A320 registration AP-BMX Peshawar to Abu Dhabi flight PK217 diverted to Karachi after experiencing failure of Inertial Navigation Systems (INS).

The aircraft departed from Peshawar at 5:43 PM and landed on Runway 25L of Karachi Airport at 8:50 PM. The aircraft was flying at altitude of 34,000 feet when it changed flight path for landing in Karachi.

Later, the aircraft left Karachi at 1:15 AM to complete flight PK217 to Abu Dhabi. It remained on the ground for 4 hours & 25 minutes.
