I agree, I thought there would be a lot of wastage. But with the cost of living, maybe people will eat up their meal. Cannot imagine all pax will do that.

They're a business not a welfare organisation. They'll do anything to attract passengers towards them in such a competitive market. Plus, many passengers actually complain regarding the quantity and quality of meal on airlines.
