Do you remember the model of an Air-France Concorde in the main lobby?
Honestly! I dont. But I do remember all the hotel staff, especially the girls in the coffee shop, reception and housekeeping. :D

Are you also a Pilot?
Unfortunately Not! My father refused to let me or my brothers become pilots. He sent all of us to USA to become engineers... I mean go figure!!!

Great story. I actually flew on the bus route in 1982. Boarded a PIA DC-10 in New York, and flew into Karachi in around 24 hours.
Actually those bus routes were great if you are spending all the time in the cockpit sitting behind the Capt. In the 747 there is a small alley behind the capt's and the two observers seats. You could stretch yourself on the floor. Take a small nap.

I have also done the KHI-DXB-CAI-FRA-PAR-JFK bus route myself in '83 and '84....

Truly a sad day,

Notice the photographer thinks the airline that this B742 has come from is called "Pakistan Airways"

That's what you get when you have just a singular "Pakistan" on the fuselage...

For the time being Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of United States have issued a temporary one month's certificate of air-worthiness to Evergreen's Boeing 747-282B, registration N559EV (ex-AP-AYW of PIA), without inspecting the aircraft. The certificate of air-worthiness (certificate number T055985) was issued on September 19, 2005 and it expires on October 19, 2005. If Evergreen is interested in keeping this Boeing 747 in flying condition then FAA inspectors will inspect the aircraft in USA to issue certificate of air-worthiness of longer duration.
