While Lahore airport is due to large upgrade to handle the traffic levels as well the initial security checks.

It was good to see new retail outlets like Dunkin Donuts and Gloria Jeans which gives the airport a modern feel. I still think a few more are needed.

What about Bus terminal like Karachi Airport? Any upgrade for that?

^ Karachi needs a new airport in general. There is literally no space for expansion or new a terminal at Karachi airport.

In the short term, it's just better to renovate the terminal buliding and increase the number of immigration counters at both arrival and departure lounges. And most importantly, change the terrible staff at all airports in general. There is a re-checking counter right after immigration which is a useless consequence being created.

Moving or Building another new Airport is very difficult task.

Current Airport can be converted to Full Domestic Terminal, and just next to it, Toward QIAP side or old airport side, new International building can be built.

OR Demolish the OLD QIAP and Build the new International Terminal Many things needs to be relocated but this probably be the only possible solution.

1) Karachi doesn't need any real expansion as it is already operating under capacity. The capacity is 10-12 million per year.

2) First demolishing the already existing structures and building a new terminal is going to cost same as building a new airport.

3) Karachi airport is already in the centre of the city and would eventually need to be moved now or later. Model colony is just by the runway of KHI.

1) It's operating under capacity because at day time Int'l side is idle. But in reality Check in desks and Immigration counter at least needs 5 times of expansion.

2) Not Correct! Demolishing old QIAP [Not Jinnah Terminal] and continue same runway usage will allow at-least 50% saving, as new runway cost and Airport Building cost usually are same! Fun fact!. Plus no land for new Building/runway needs to be procured so another set of saving, hence both solutions are not equal.

3) Model colony and all encroachment needs to be removed or bring into some limit, moving the Airport to another location is not the answer of unplanned / uncontrolled expansion of model colony.
