PIA Airbus A320 Performs Flight to Istanbul from Islamabad via Karachi

Today, PIA Airbus A320 registration AP-BOK performed Islamabad to Istanbul via Karachi flight PK705.

The aircraft stayed in Karachi for 1 hour & 44 minutes.

Departed from Islamabad at 5:45 AM
Arrived in Karachi at 7:30 AM
Departed from Karachi at 9:14 AM
Arrived in Istanbul at 12:53 PM

Islamabad to Karachi completed in 1 hours & 38 minutes.

On November 15, PIA started Boeing 777 non-stop flights linking Istanbul with Islamabad and Lahore - 4 weekly between Istanbul and Islamabad & 2 weekly between Istanbul and Lahore.

These flights were planned by B777 why change of equipment

Today, PIA Airbus A320 registration AP-BOK arrived in Lahore at 4:12 AM as flight PK708 from Istanbul. The aircraft departed from Istanbul at 8:53 PM. Flight completed in 5 hours & 19 minutes.

I feel sorry for the poor passengers who had endured this journey in such tight seats of a 320. Zulum!

Probably not enough people wanting to travel on this flight, resulting in low loads and PIA trying to cut expenses by operating an A320.

Have been saying this for a long time.

Lease 2 A321-Neos. Put it in 16/170 layout with 16 club class seats and 170 economy.

The aircraft should have proper onboard entertainment.

Operate around 12 weekly flights to Istanbul, 4 each from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

What incentive do people have to fly this route on PIA, when they can fly Turkish all the way.

Once again poor planning.

The only difference and USP here is the low fare by PIA while Turkish (the only direct flight to IST) is too expensive. I'm planning for Turkey in mid January 2023 with 2 adults and 1 kid, the average difference of fare between the two carriers is some 35K per pax.

And yes I agree, I would always choose for a comfortable flight with IFE instead of traveling on crampy A320 with no IFE.

Today, PIA Boeing 777-200ER registration AP-BHX performed Lahore to Istanbul flight PK707.

From Istanbul, the Boeing 777 is expected to perform flight PK706 to Islamabad.

PIA can also consider LYP/PEW/UET/MUX as alternate points in Pakistan.

PIA is yet to receive one more A320, this can be deployed on daily KHI-IST-KHI flight with afternoon departure time, as Turkish have increased the frequency to various US and EU destinations with different departing times from IST.

Only reason people can buy PIA+TK solution is when fares are 15% or more, less to the nearest one stop competitor. And this is possible scenario.
