Hiring of Consultancy Services for Design and Construction Supervision of Greenfield Aerodrome for General Aviation Activities

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) intends to hire services of a reputed consultancy firm/consultant (national/local) for design and construction supervision of a Greenfield Aerodrome for General Aviation activities near Lahore.

The scope of work includes preparation of design (compliant with International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO standards) and economical cost estimates for an aerodrome to handle General Aviation activities and construction supervision of the project.

The work shall include:

Fencing of premises (with watch-towers)
Runway
Taxiway
Apron
Aircraft hangar
Compact office block with control tower on top
Allied electrical, lighting and other works

^ The new aerodrome should have runway capable of handling executive jet, regional jet/narrow-body airliner flights.

The new aerodrome will replace Walton Aerodrome in Lahore.

Walton Aerodrome will be shut down for the development of Walton Central Business District (CBD).

According to news sources:

Five hundred acres of land near Dallah Wahga in Sheikhupura near Narowal-Muridke Road has been selected/identified for the construction of greenfield aerodrome for general aviation.

The land has been identified/selected by Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), Government of Punjab, following a request for the land made by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Report will be submitted to Board of Revenue, Government of Punjab, after completion of land survey.

Somebody is going to make a lot of money selling land to the CAA.

Whoever decides where the airport goes, buys the land first, then sells it to the CAA at a handsome profit.

This is why we are now poorer than Bangladesh, that has higher GDP, Forex reserves and exports than Pakistan.

Meri aik dafa isb mai high official se mulaqat hui thi , unho ne bataya tha ke Lahore airport keliye Muridke ke pass aik project propose kya gaya hai and ye baat koi 7/8 saal porani hai. Land was already marked at that time for new aerodrome.

Federal Cabinet meeting on April 1 chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has de-notified Walton Aerodrome in Lahore for the development of Central Business District (CBD) on aerodrome land, informed Federal Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain at a press briefing.

Land outside Lahore has been allocated for the construction of a greenfield aerodrome for general aviation aircraft.

The new aerodrome will be developed jointly by the Government of Punjab and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Land has been provided to Pakistan CAA by the Government of Punjab for the development of aerodrome.

Walton Aerodrome operations will be shifted to the new aerodrome outside Lahore.
