As per my understanding, ban has been imposed on direct flights, not on passengers. Passengers can fly using other airlines with Valid 72Hrs Moleculer Test ( PCR Covid ). Can some one in this forum gives us more details on this ban as my family is due to travel after Eid through Emirates airline to Toronto.

Passengers travelling to Canada from India or Pakistan via an indirect route will need to obtain a negative COVID19 pre-departure test in the third country before proceeding to Canada.

Transport Canada has issued a NOTAM to suspend all commercial and private passenger flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days, effective 23:30 EDT on April 22, 2021.

Today, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi talked to Canadian Foreign Minister Marc Garneau on telephone and hoped review on Canadian decision that banned passenger flights from Pakistan to Canada after completion of its thirty days time period.

The Canadian foreign minister was informed about steps taken by Pakistan government to control COVID-19 pandemic.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Canada suspended all commercial and private passenger flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days, effective 23:30 EDT on April 22, 2021.

Most likely, the aircraft on its return flight to Pakistan will bring home PIA crew who were stranded in Toronto due to suspension of passenger flights from Pakistan to Canada for thirty days from April 22.

Ban on passenger flights to Canada from India and Pakistan has been extended to June 21 i.e. for additional thirty days.

Passengers traveling to Canada from India or Pakistan via an indirect route need to obtain a COVID19 pre-departure test from the 3rd country before continuing their journey to Canada.

The ban first announced on April 22 was for thirty days.
