Re-carpeting of Secondary Runway at Allama Iqbal International Air Port (AIIAP) - Lahore
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is planning to undertake subject works to rehabilitate the existing asphalt surface of secondary runway at Allama Iqbal International Air Port (AIIAP) - Lahore.
The components of the works in the project shall consist of but not limited to the following:
Milling of existing asphalt pavement
Asphalt overlay on runway surface
Pavement markings
All assorted works with the components mentioned above
Reputable local firms/contractors registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in Category C-3 or above having specialization code CE-01, CE-10 and EE-06 possessing prior experience and expertise in construction/rehabilitation of runways, taxiways and aprons (rigid and flexible) or construction/rehabilitation of limited access roads, expressways and highways (rigid and flexible) and having adequate organizational structure and financial soundness are invited to apply for pre-qualification.
According to City42 News channel, Lahore Airport aircraft parking bay number three will remain unavailable due to its rehabilitation work from March 16 to 19.
Flight operations will be affected at Lahore Airport for three hours during some of the coming days due to runway inspections, according to a local news channel.
According to news sources, Lahore Airport primary runway repairs/maintenance work was completed today and the primary runway is now made available for flight operations.
