Post by msarmadk »

Salam guys,

I live in Karachi and was wondering if there are any model shops in Karachi which offer aircraft scale model kits.

Please reply soon.

Thank you.

I am actually a newbie in this hobby. I was looking for a shop that could actually provide me with the stuff I would need for completing an aircraft, like paints, glues, cutters, sand and tapes.
When I was younger I used to make aircraft out of card board and Styrofoam but I think it's time to move onto something more authentic.
But right now, I am looking for the Italeri kit for C-130h of 1/48 scale.

BTW I have an A310 from turkish airline that I built with a fictional registration no. Tell me if you guys want to see its pictures, I would be glad to show it to you. It's the only one I have left from the time when I used to build these from Cardboard boxes.

Interesting that you mention that. I have the Italeri C-130H (1/72 scale though) that I plan to build for a very good friend in the Air Force. I'm currently looking for small motors to use for rotating fan-blades as well as a mechanism that would allow for the side doors to move in and slide up.

you can find a lot of info about that online too. I've seen many kits used that way on forums and other places.

There used to be a shop here called Hobby Lobby that used to sell paints etc but they closed down and there isn't any shop here that sells such stuff anymore.

Do hobby shops not ship to Pakistan? Is the shipping cost prohibitive?

Nasir, how do you think I get all my models delivered? Of course they ship to Pakistan. I have packages arriving every month.

Good to hear. My initial thought went to cost, unwillingness of hobby shops to mail to Pak, and pilfrage by Post Office. So glad that I am wrong.
