Yes you are right on hydraulic failure of some sort but there has been reports of sever structural failure also as whole front of aircraft fell to the ground with severe damage to the flooring, nose gears, gear bay and doors due to the weight of the aircraft.FULLTHRUST wrote:From the picture, the red color fluid just behind the nose gear seems to ba a hydraulic system failure. This is not a problem, could be a minor line/gasket failure.

Ok, the nose gear shock absorbers are known as *Nose Oleos*, and are filled with that red color hydraulic fluid. If the nose oleo fails, the nose will eventually fell down, and consequently, the damages.ConnieMan wrote:Yes you are right on hydraulic failure of some sort but there has been reports of sever structural failure also as whole front of aircraft fell to the ground with severe damage to the flooring, nose gears, gear bay and doors due to the weight of the aircraft.FULLTHRUST wrote:From the picture, the red color fluid just behind the nose gear seems to ba a hydraulic system failure. She is back in the air once again!!!
According to restarted thread on A.net, An-225 was on ground for 2 weeks for repairs and now she is back in air and flown back to Ukraine for more repairs...

But then again there are no latest pictures so far after its repairs and back in air shots....
