Tonight's Lahore-Glasgow Service is cancelled
Tonights PIA flight from Lahore to Glasgow is cancelled. Does anyone know why? Is it to do with the ban?

So will PIA aircraft continue to fly to Glasgow or will it now be a connecton to Glasgow with some domestic service in the UK?CombiFan wrote:Yes, only Brimingham and Glasgow, in UK, have been effected by the ban, however BHX will face no inturruption of schedule as it will be served with 777. GLA psgrs will be interlined thru MAN, BHX and LHR.

reading off airliners.net forums .. I was wondering if only one 777: BGL , is going to be enough to mantain the 3 times weekly service to Frankfurt?... its been mentioned above tht Glasgow will be re-routed through Frankfurt twice weekly.. where else are they gonna merge flights ? Paris .. Amersterdam ? i know 777 operates these 2 destination during the summer so what is it all year round now ? what abt Milan , Rome and Athens ? They cant possibly send the 777 to these places and then fly them onwards to Britain!.. its like throwing away ur market share to Emirates , Qatar and Etihad.

PK's inept management should be thrown behind bars for gross mismanagement and the massive amount of embarrassment caused to our once great national flag carrier..
...the age of the plane has nothing to do with being banned, a brand new B777 or A330 can be banned also if maitenance is not kept up to a minimum set of standards....
that being said.. does anyone know how will this situation affect flights to the USofA..particularily ORD?

Criminals belong behind bars. Forget the embarrassments, they are too many, generated for the nation who also somehow end up with the odious liabilities.PK's inept management should be thrown behind bars for gross mismanagement and the massive amount of embarrassment caused to our once great national flag carrier..

It is heartening that the age, type & model are recognized as not the cause.
Should Pakistan's (CAA) category be down graded to 2 as a consequence of CAA failure to oversee the compliance of regs, imagine what that will do.
FAA may not be far behind EU.
FAA International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA)
The FAA’s IASA program focuses on a country's ability, not the individual air carrier, to adhere to international standards and recommended practices for aircraft operations and maintenance established by the United Nation's technical agency for aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These audits are limited to civil aviation authorities of countries with existing air carrier service to the U.S., or authorities of foreign air carriers wanting to start services to the U.S.
