Islamabad Airport to stay closed for 4 hours on April 15-16

Post by Abbas Ali »

According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announcement in today’s newspaper, Islamabad Airport will remain closed on 15th-16th April, 2006 from 1230 hours to 1630 hours.

CAA has requested passengers to contact respective airlines and CAA flight enquiry for rescheduling of their flights.

I think it’s because of VVIP movement. Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud is due to arrive in Islamabad on April 15 for an official visit to Pakistan.

Absolutely RIDICULOUS to say the least.

We desperately need a new airport, which will hopefully be free from all these political issues and mis-use.
